Construction has really made it hard to decide where to play on State street

I could play near state street brats where the construction is and where drunks keep peeing and leaving a terrible smell or I can play in front of wando's on University Avenue and risk the chance of getting hit by a drunk driver.

There are other places on State street but other street musicians are usually there and the tips aren't as good.

The Bridge To Terabithia(What a strange Movie)

Here it is what looks like a scary kids movie turns out to be a my girl story only the girl dies instead of the boy.

I was hoping for more cartoon animation and for them to have some weird adventure in Terabithia but I did like AnnaSophia Robb's acting in it.

She's soon to be the next kid actress without a job.

What was really funny was after the movie Walt Disney on the DVD had a video of AnnaSophia Robb singing.

What's next Walt, the cereal or the video game ?

The Music from Zooey Deschanel was kind of fun and it was definitely trying to be a feel good movie or solve all your problems including dealing with self righteous christians.

It was nice but not enough scifi and the movie cover really mislead me.

Would I see it again ?

Maybe or maybe not but I suggest that it was good enough for a kids movie to watch it once because there is alot of fun in the movie and it did end nicely but not what I expected and it's definitely not a scifi classic.

It's very emotional.

The Isthmus review(They mispelled my name and they gave Luke the credit for assembling the CD)

Well what do you know I'm reading the isthmus and it said the great LukeSki assembled Remix Project.

Here it is for you to read:
http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/article.php?article=22865

Well okay but I thought I traded a copy of reinventing myself to Possible Oscar and John of The G Wildens who is also in Possible Oscar decided to remix Hey Let's Talk after I told him about it.

I would share other stories but it is alot of typing.

I do admit Luke did do a terrific job on his remix and told some of his friends but but all the artist on the CD which is at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/artpaul27 are really there because I contacted them.

But the artwork is definitely Lukes even though it was my idea to save money and print it in Black N White.

http://www.thedailypage.com/isthmus/article.php?article=22865

Well anyways Luke surely does need credit for past CDs he help me with so now he is finally getting credit.

I think I should mention that the Best of Art Paul Schlosser was definitely Luke's idea and my CD Art Paul Schlosser(The Tribute!) which was my idea {was co-assembled with Luke} so maybe since he should have gotten more credit from those projects he is finally getting it now.

Hey Luke thanks for all your help and for letting me be part of your life-Art Paul

"I Want To Parody Your Song" to the music of: "Don't Steal This Song" by Hot Waffles

I'm sorry but after hearing so many versions of this song both it in the past I just had to write this.

Though I really think DJ Particle's song I Stole This Song is the best parody I heard and it is great I really had to come up with my own version.

So here are both:

The Earlier version called: I Want To Banana Peal Your Song:

When you want a sock puppet to play with, because you don't have any guest
Just take one off your foot, so what if it's smelly and name it suzy mess
I don't mean to be a pest
Did I mention you've got catchup on your vest
Well I'm waiting for the punch line but my hair is turning gray
I know I look handsome but that don't mean I'm gay
No you disagree with that
You say I'm old and fat
Well I guess I eat plenty
I waited for a punchline in your song but there wasn’t any

Well I want Banana Peel your song
Because it's long and not very funny
When I hear them sing so seriously
They make me want parody
and sing about eating the Easter bunny
Yeah I ate his legs first
Then I had some water to quiche my thirst
But I like the Toothe Fairy

And now here is the newer one:

I want To Parody Your Song

When you hear a song that’s a crock, then your pen just cannot rest
I mean I like to rock if it’s funny, but leave the serious songs for Pink Floyd or Yes
I mean I listen to demented radio shows for jokes
Not anthems by worried folks
Who songs are just okay
Or who’s songs sound kind of gay
I mean they try to rock or rap
But the song is kind of flat
That was not funny
Your song sounds like the Easter Bunny

I want to Parody your song
It was kind of long and annoying
Why did the D J play this
I want tp Parody your song
You song is kind of boring
So like Weird Al Yankovics
I had to give your song some funny licks

When I go to a comedy show, and I see a crummy act
And their doing a some other artist cover that’s boring and kind of whacked
Well it makes me want to shout out loud
Some mean and descriptive noun
That will blow the audience away
Before their boring song turns my hair gray
Cause there’s something that they lack
Especially if I paid 8 dollars to see the act
They should be funny
I don't like my eggs runny

I actually would like to put all 5 or 6 versions of the song on one CD but I'm not sure what the other artist think of my 2 versions.

I just sent my CD to Vapor Records

I was listening to Tegan and Sara on youtube(because one of my newest goals is to check out some other artist this year)and thought I would read their wikipedia page to find out more about them.

You could get it by googling Tegan and Sara.

Well when I was there I noticed they are on Neil Young's record label Vapor Records.

So I googled Vapor records and saw that they accept unsolicited demos so I thought maybe they might like my

Living in a Materialistic CD at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/artpaul24

I hope it wasn't a waste of a CD.

Here's my dilemma ...

Here is my dilemma: Now that the remix CD is done why do I bother promoting my music ?

I mean I'm quite happy with the remix CD and I'll send a few out to the band members and sell them on State street but do I really have to try to tour and promote it on websites ?

I mean it is on http://www.myspace.com/artpaultheremixproject

But life is fun where I am so maybe I shouldn't waist time and energy trying to get somewhere and failing.

BTW if you do want a copy of the remix CD and your not one of the musicians or bands that remixed my song then please send $12 to:

Art Paul Schlosser
5510 Pheasant Hill Rd
Monona,WI 53716

Renee Zellweger does a pretty good job as Miss Potter and these other movies.

The movie is about the author of Peter Rabbit and the other kid books.

The DVD is great because in the special feature section you can also watch a documentary about the real Miss Potter.

She is cast with Ewan McGregor who is also with Renee in another Movie called Down With Love.

I think I like Down with Love much more because it is funnier and Renee does a better job playing the female writer.

But Miss Potter is cute in it's own ways (She talks to the charecters of her books) though after watching the documentary on the DVD I'm a little dispointed because there was no mention of Miss Potter falling in love with her publisher and him dying.

Another good Renee Zellweger movie I saw on TV with video & DVD was Cinderallaman.

This movie was quite good and it's a true story about a famous irish boxer named James Braddock who goes from success to rags and being banned from boxing to something special which I won't spoil.

Renee is very good in this movie because she can really show how a boxer's wife feels.

It was also a good film for people who think they have it bad these days.

The poverty of the 30s was alot worse than the recession we are having now.

You maybe indept but no one has cut your heat off yet have they ?

Okay well those are a couple of recent movies I saw that you might like.

Something I discovered that might or might not help you ?

If you take classes at a college you could work for the student newspaper and get your stuff published and maybe even get paid a little. This would help your resume and make school a little more affordable not to mention a chance to build your audience.

How do I know ?

I'm currently taking classes at MATC and I applied for the student newspaper and they accepted me as a writer and have been publishing my articles. Here is my next article they will be publishing:

Change in Madison: For the better, or worse?
By Art Paul Schlosser

As I see our city and all the changes occurring in Madison, one thought
keeps going over and over in my head: Is change really always for the
best? I don’t drink Coke, but when the new Coke flavor came out, how
many people said they liked it better than the old? There are some new
things we like, but often the old favorites cannot be outdone. It’s
really getting to me that the things in Madison that were fun to do are
all going away.
There are two types of change that really bother me: familiar things
moving away or (worse yet) closing, and losing friends. I have lost many
of my favorite stores in the State Street area. There is something
special about walking down to where you like to hang out, seeing your
friends there, knowing the owner and buying things you know you can only
find there. So my question is, couldn't landlords recognize this and
freeze the rent as a service to the local fans of that store? Or what about
this: the city could give money back to landlords who freeze rent on a
store that is an commodity to the public.
Then there is the mp3. Was it really a good idea? I remember hanging
out at some of the various CD and record stores on State Street. At one
time there were between five and 12 in the area, but now there are only
two or three. Did we sell out? Did we sell the local friendly service
for a few free mp3s on our computer?
Jamie's Cookies is now Verizon, but you can't get any cookies at
Verizon. The Den, after 25 years, had to call it quits, so forget getting a
big soda for a cheap price. Sugar Shack has still got plenty of used
CDs, records, cassettes and videos – but since Gary had to move the
store, you have to go to the east side. I remember when Cosmo (Bob), used
to go in with some records in really bad shape and trade them for a rare
one in really good shape.
Not only there, but also at Wazoo, which later became Plush Records,
but now is a clothing store. They didn't always let Cosmo get away with
it, but sometimes they would, just to be nice. It makes me wonder if
change is really always for the best in our city and society. We are not
only losing cool places to hang out at, but also losing the owners and
the people who work there.
I owe a lot to Gerry Glaeve, who bought some of my first paintings and
encouraged me to keep going as an artist. Because rent is so high,
you'll never get to see some of the neat pieces of artwork he had in his
store. For me, it isn't just the store, but also Gerry that I’ll miss.
I also miss Bob from Plush records, who inspired me to write the song,
“Never Grow Up;” and hanging out with Dan, the drummer of
Killdozer, when he used to work at Pennylane. We used to eat lunch together
sometimes. I played Dan my first studio tape and he and the other members
of Killdozer had me open for them at Club De Wash. Sheila, the drummer
of Cattle Prod, also used to work at Wazoo and Pennylane. I remember
when she put up this cool window display with Elvis and a mirror in his
face, with a sign that said, “You are Elvis.”
I used to hang out at the University Square, where I also knew people
and saw a lot of movies. Gone are the days of the midnight movies at
University Square, the pinball machine and meeting Johnny Danger who played my music.
With all of these changes: people moving away, stores closing
or moving to new locations, I can't help but think maybe we are losing
the Madison that was voted Best City and are instead gaining a
Condominium Ghost Town.
What will happen to all those CDs, cassettes and records if everyone
decides to download all of their music? What about the personal service?
You will never convince me that no personal service is better. You will
never convince me that checking out your stuff in the self-service
line at the library, or now at Copps, is better than talking to someone as
you check out.
The thing about Madison that made it so great, is that it was a
friendly place to hang out. But now, we are losing all of that to Change. So I
ask once more: Is change really always for the best?
